About The Role
We are looking for an experienced and deeply passionate Creator Network Director to be a key leader within the US team. You will be responsible for shaping Acast’s Creator Network strategy in the US, leading content acquisitions and developing content-related new businesses as well as overseeing our partner management for key creators. Ideally, you will be a real self starter, think creatively, act collaboratively, solve problems strategically and embody a strong passion for spoken-word and audio content. You will manage and continue to build the American content team. You will be based in either our NYC or LA offices reporting to the Managing Director of the Americas and working closely with the SVP, Creator Network, both based in New York.
What you'll do:
Develop and execute US Creator Network strategy including recruiting, negotiating and implementing licensing relationships with content providers (media networks, broadcasters, independent podcasters & brands) Manage high level relationships with current and future content publishing partners Work collaboratively with colleagues globally cross-departmentally to drive the strategic goals of the company. Work closely with our global sales teams to ensure podcasters receive maximum revenue and that we are signing content with commercial potential. Input on the tech/product roadmap to ensure we offer our creators the best in class tools to grow and share their shows. Work with 3rd party platforms and technologies to integrate Acast content with emerging platforms and devices. Evangelize on the power of podcasts at creator meet ups, industry events and as part of our global PR outreach. Some travel across will therefore be required.
Who you are:
Ideally you’ll have 7+ years of content and/or licensing experience (ideally in digital and/or media), an extremely strong network within media companies and talent agencies in the US and in-depth knowledge and understanding of the US podcast market and media industry. You’ll bring energy and focus to our content acquisition pipeline - supporting our development team to reach and find new voices into podcasting, to ensure we continue our rapid growth in the US. You’ll be negotiating licensing agreements, developing new commercial structures and partnerships, interpreting legal documents and working with attorneys to complete agreements. You will have a demonstrated track record of success and leadership expertise in a tech/media environment, Exceptional relationship management, negotiation and leadership skills and a proven ability to communicate and navigate through multiple disciplines, departments and across different cultures. You will have experience managing a team across three offices as well as experience providing thought leadership externally - for speaking at industry events. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are very important as you’ll be a key ambassador for Acast within the Podcaster community in the US. You’ll be a team player that is collaborative, diplomatic and flexible.
